A Polaroid a Day...

A polaroid everyday for a year, from the camera of Monica Clapcott. What a marvelous idea.

(I can't remember how I stumbled upon this. Oops.)

Reactions Around the World

Kenya.

Indonesia.

India.

Georgia.

Chicago.

My favorite thing about Obama's win is that the world is celebrating with us. I love that this hope and positive energy has united so many people.

Pretty Paper Pictures

I was wowed by these three dimensional paper pop-ups by California artist Jayme McGowan. I can't imagine how much time goes into each one to achieve such detail and beauty. You can buy some of her work on Etsy too! (yay!)

It kind of reminds me of Emerson Cod's pop-up predilection on Pushing Daisies.

Head Hoods

Too much fun is being had with Head Hoods.

Halloween is over, but you don't have to relinquish your dress up rights after all. And if someone asks if you can be president, you can pull up your Barack hoodie and say "Yes we can." Then you just have to justify talking about yourself plurally. But I can't help you there.

Max Kerning

My friend and fellow graphic design student Briana turned me on to this funny and fabulous promotional site for Suitcase Fusion 2.

Good design cannot happen without proper Typography. And a big part of making type look pretty is the space between the letters, which is adjusted through kerning. As Max says:

Improper letter spacing is a visual assault. Serif or sans serif, all text must be sans chaos. Fulfillment can be found in a clean font.

He must have heard of my loathing for Comic Sans. Oh Max Kerning, marry me.
