I love the colors in this picture. And it goes with the post below quite nicely. (courtesy of Lookbook)
SHOW AND TELL FOR BIG KIDS

How lovely is this Christian Lacroix design for Michelle Obama? I loved the illustration style. Some big names have offered up their visions for what they'd like to dress our new First Lady in for Inauguration Day. Check out some more ideas (from Betsey Johnson to Rodarte) at WWD.

As one commentator pointed out, this is just proof that good pictures come from good photographers, not necessarily the top of the line equipment. I think a pinhole camera would make a great gift for any of those creative types in your life, those crazy cats.

Robin Cameron: photos by Wilson Cameron with Gouache overlays.

I lusted after the American Apparel circle scarf based on its versatility (hood, dress, top...whatever!), but settled for tying some of my pashminas together at the ends to achieve the same effect.

(apparently I'm not the only one under this spell)

I miss playing with those guys. I would build little cities of blocks and cardboard under my Nana's feet as she cooked collard greens and tried her best not to destroy Fisher Price civilizations. My other grandmother still has the Little People houses in her basement from when my mom and her siblings were little people too.

I'm hovering somewhere between awe and jealousy with these photos from Lane Collins. American-born, she is now living in New Zealand "in search of inspiration and adventure". It would seem that she found it.
